This is the zip file mentioned in my Datafile article "Ticking Clock Aplet",
(V22N1) ... But you won't find any aplet here!

After some beta versions using an aplet, I've decided that a standalone
library is preferable this time, just like Martin Lang's excellent lib
1540. An aplet allows the user to delete the application easily and also
provides them with a suitable place for a help screen: the aplet's note.
However, these features can also be provided by a library: with a self-
destructing command like the one in V21N3p32, and customizing the help
displayed by the HELPWITH command.

The files in this zip are:

BIN\ Directory containing the binary files, ready to be downloaded to your:
BIN\38\ ... HP38G calculator:
  HP38DIR.000
  HP38DIR.CUR
  CLK38V1.LIB
BIN\39\ ... or your HP39/40G:
  HP39DIR.000
  HP39DIR.CUR
  CLK39V1.LIB
SRC\ Directory containing the source files for both:
SRC\38\ ... the HP38G version:
MAKE38.BAT Batch file to create the library
CLK38V1.S Source code for the HP38G Ticking Clock Library, Version 1.0
SRC\39\ ... and the HP39/40G version:
MAKE39.BAT Batch file to create the library
CLK39V1.S Source code for the HP39/40G Ticking Clock Library, Version 1.0

HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE LIBRARY TO AN HP38G
-----------------------------------------

On your PC:
Open the serial interface kit, select the proper directory and connect.
What I use is: kermit set speed 9600, set warn off, set bell off, server

On your HP38G:
Press LIB RECV select "Disk drive..." OK ENTER Now you should be in the
GET FILE input form. Press the softkey [CHOOS] OK and OK

HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE LIBRARY TO AN HP39G OR AN HP40G
-----------------------------------------------------

Same as above (press APLET instead of LIB). But you can use a faster method:
Start sending the file CLK39V1.LIB from your PC with XMODEM (9600,8,1,n)
and on your calc, press APLET [RECV] and select "HP39/40 (Wire)" OK

HOW DOES IT WORK?
-----------------

Press HOME, and key in CLK to start displaying the clock. Use HELPWITH CLK
to display a help screen. SK2 toggles between date and time. Use SK3 to
set your preferred date and time formats. SHIFT SK2 is the "light button"
and SHIFT SK3 quits the application. To delete the library: SHIFT SK3 and
execute DELCLK.

HOW TO COMPILE THE LIBRARY
--------------------------

Before running MAKE38.BAT or MAKE39.BAT, make sure that the HP Tools
are somewhere in your path. Also the files SUPROM38.O or SUPROM39.O
should be in your current directory.
